Royal Visit
5 May 2002

Saigon Children's Charity was honoured with a visit from the Princess Royal, Princess Anne. Mr Warwick Morris, the British Ambassador, and Adrian Stephens the British Consul General accompanied her.

The visit was part of SCC's Tenth Anniversary Celebrations. Owing to shortage of royal time we were unable to take the Princess to see much of our work so instead we gathered samples of many projects into the Ballroom of the Renaissance Riverside Hotel. There was paper making, photography, painting, sewing, hairdressing, children from the scholarship scheme and children from the health education project. There were also women from the microcredit programme demonstrating what they have used their loans for: weaving fishing nets, making shoes and selling soup. Also present were major donors, sponsors and Vietnamese partners.
