With registration sponsored by the Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon, saigonchildren volunteers, staff and beneficiaries shared the fun by joining in the Marathon on 1st and 2nd December. In the process, using peer-to-peer fundraising, we have raised more than $1,500 for children in need.

Witnessing everyday how a joint effort can create a positive impact towards a better future for children, the team, including saigonchildren staff and young volunteers (3 – 33 years old), decided to take action and put on their running shoes to contribute to removing barriers to education.
Eliott, saigonchildren 4-year-old volunteer
“Hi everyone! I’m Eliott. I’m almost 4 years old, and I’m super lucky to already speak three languages, although I’m lazy at Vietnamese. My school is great and my parents care that I learn a good sense of fairness and compassion. Santa Claus is pretty generous with me, too.But still many other children in Vietnam don’t have that chance….”
Staff and volunteers of saigonchildren were running to the finish line while the MC was cheering for them by saying out loud saigonchildren tagline “I am removing barriers to education”
Over the years, peer-to-peer fundraising activities that support saigonchildren have raised thousands of dollars to bring a fairer start to children with a difficult background and children with disabilities. From annual crowdfunding events with many fundraising volunteers like the Hanoi-to-HCMC Charity Bike Ride, Charity Cycle Adventure, to more random events hosted by saigonchildren supporters such as birthday parties, retirement parties, weddings, etc. All of these individual kind acts have not only raised the awareness of our surrounding networks towards doing good and give back to the community but an excellent way to connect people to make a joint effort that brings so much fun.
