Message from Director

Whenever we put the newsletter together it reminds me about just how much SCC is doing now and also how hard the team here work. Whilst the focus in this quarter’s newsletter is, as it should be, on the work we are doing and the children we support, I would like to take a minute to focus on the team here too.

Over the last five years that I have been fortunate enough to lead SCC I have worked with a first-class team of people. Some of those people here now will, I am sure, soon be pushing me out of my chair and they are certainly developing the skills to lead and do a better job than me one day soon! For now, though, I am just happy to able to work alongside them. They could all be off working for one of the big global companies that are springing up here all the time and earn three times what they do – but they don’t – and I am grateful to every one of them for that commitment to SCC and, more importantly, to the children we work with.

I won’t name names – you will occasionally see some of them in our newsletters or on our website too – because everyone of them does what they can. This group of people when added into the family that includes you as our reader and supporter as well as volunteers and the Trustees, make SCC what it is – an effective, hard working and happy band that have grouped together to change lives here in Vietnam  – and we are lucky here to see that happen every day. Keep your support coming and thanks a million!
