Saigon Children’s Charity (SCC) would like to say a huge thank you to every single donation we received in helping us reach a massive $11,065.31. We have been so overwhelmed by the response and amazed that we were able to raise $625.31 more than our target of $10,440, with still more donations anticipated.
For the first couple of weeks, we were a little concerned seeing ‘0% raised’ but once the campaign gained momentum the response was fantastic. We have had donations from all over the world, from the U.S., France, Japan, the UK, Hong Kong and, of course, Vietnam. It truly has been an international effort.

SCC would like to say a big thank you to the huge donations from Maytronics, Aon, Johnson and Johnson, Castrol, Nghia Thanh Vien Dong Joint Stock Co. and many more. We have had some amazing experiences directly working with employees from many companies. They worked so hard in the construction of the bicycles and testing them in races. SCC will also never forget how generous they were in donating to the cause from their own pockets. It really has been an eye-opening experience and thanks to tour operators, Indochina Heritage, for their help in making it happens.
A special mention to everyone at ‘Jailbreak’, who showed us just how resourceful Facebook can be with their initiative of 20,000 VND ($1) being donated for each time this post (pictured) was shared. These new, exciting ideas were fantastic to behold and we could not believe the support our campaign subsequently received.

87 bicycles is a fantastic result, but this is just a drop in the ocean of the amount of children we want to help. For the school year, 2014-15, these 87 students are now not restricted in getting to school by their commutes and can continue to have access to an education. Now we look forward to our next target for the school year 2015-16. Thanks to your amazing support, and subsequent smashing of our target, we have a surplus of $625.31 to get us off to a great start for next year.

Thank you so much again! Our team continues to roll on (pun intended) and stays committed, and ever so more motivated, to the idea that; ‘One bicycle can save a child’s education’.
