On 28 and 29 June, 2017, Ninh Thuan Inclusive Education Support and Development Center, sponsored by Help Alliance and SCC, has organized training about behavioral intervention for “Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder” (short term is called “Children with Autism”). This training is part of the Project Scope “Early intervention for children with autism – Professional training for teachers and parents”.
On the first day of workshop, teachers were given the opportunities to work with children and parents to assess the children’s abilities under the instruction of Mr. Hoang Van Quyen, Speech and Language therapist of Children’s Hospital 1 and other therapists. On the second day, Mr. Quyen provided advanced knowledge and discussed with teachers and parents about the sensory and behaviour of children with autism.
Teachers are using tools to assess Phuc’s abilities. Phuc is a child with autism studying at the center.
The acquired knowledge and skills from the training have enabled teachers to apply more appropriate methods in providing education to children, especially the little ones and thus helped them develop their abilities better.
WWO Programme came into existence in order to provide vital resources to local organisations so that they can be more active to conduct innovative ideas, share knowledge and experiences, develop and/or widespread the optimal approaches in education for the children with disabilities and help the children optimise their abilities.
Small groups are discussing to set objectives and making Intervention plans for children with autism with the instruction from Mr. Quyen and other specialists.
