On January 19th, 2018, students of the 15th Hospitality Course of Saigonchildren (NGO) participated in a life skills training course with the theme: Job Apply Skills for Hospitality, presented by Mrs. Vo Thi Tuyet Phuong – The Chief Human Resources Officer in Caravelle Hotel.
Besides academic classes, these trainees also had the opportunity to join in other soft-skill activities, which were essential for them to practice before graduation. After the training session, the participants provided feedback stating that the material was explained clearly, with care, and that it was highly applicable for their future careers.
Now, the 15th Hospitality Course has come to an end. Over the last six months, trainees have been provided with the necessary knowledge and skills for their graduation in March 2018.
Since 2007, the project has supported over 700 teenagers in their vocational training, provided tuition free. There have been 550 successful students, with 86% of them finding a job with a stable income level ($154/month). Saigonchildren organises the program directly to support students in the hospitality industry. This helped to create prestige with big recruiters such as Caravelle Hotel, Intercontinental Asiana, Hoàng Yen restaurant, Pizza 4P’s, McDonald’s Vietnam, King Barbecue, King Buffet, Thai Seam and so on.
