On May 26th, the “Children’s Festival” was organized successfully by saigonchildren at Tieu Can High school, Tra Vinh province with the participation of about 400 students from Child Development Scholarship Programme (CDSP).
The “Children’s Festival” was organized by saigonchildren before the summer vacation in order to build a playground and also for students of all levels from CDSP to meet and have fun. This festival was also an occasion for saigonchildren, parents, and the local authorities to encourage and inspire kids on their learning path.
Preparation for the festival
At the festival, students of all levels from primary school to high school from CDSP at Tieu Can district attended the festival enjoying many fun activities which helped build a spirit of team-work and improve soft-skills.
The “Children’s Festival” gathered 377 students from the Child Development Scholarship Programme of saigonchildren
In addition to taking part in outdoor games, the students who achieved good grades in the last semester received rewards as an encouragement. University students from CDSP joined in to support the event in which their younger brothers and sisters were participating.
After the event, the students shared their hopes and dreams with their older brothers and sisters from CDSP, and also with saigonchildren. Kim Ngoc, an 11th-grade student said: “Like everyone else, I have my own dream. I want to become a pharmacist to educate everyone about how to use the medicine the right way. I see that people around me overuse medicine, especially pain relievers. I know it’s hard to reach my dream without Saigonchildren’s support. We need to work together for a better future and I believe: I CAN’T. YOU CAN’T. BUT WE CAN”
