Dear Friends of saigonchildren,
In the first quarter of 2018, we have continued to keep working for the sake of underprivileged children and achieved good results. We always keep in mind that our work cannot continue with the great support from you, our trusted donors and supporters.
This is also the opportunity for us to share with you some excellent news. We are proud to announce that Damien Roberts will take over the Executive Director position at saigonchildren from April 2018. Damien Roberts has managed international operations for the British government in the UK and across South East Asia, with a focus on economic development and trade. He has worked in both the private and public sectors, and as a university lecturer where he also mentored young people to improve access to Higher Education. Damien and his teacher fiancée came to work in Vietnam in 2015, having fallen in love with the country on previous visits.
We sincerely believe that Damien will lead saigonchildren into its mission to remove barriers to education for disadvantaged children in Vietnam, bringing his passion and energy to our dedicated team to achieve big goals in 2018 and the following years.
Finally, as there are still many children in need of support who we would like to enrol in our child development scholarship programme and help “put them on the right path”, we are calling for your support and encouragement to give a helping hand.
Thank you again for your interest and trust in our work. And let’s give a warm welcome to our new Executive Director!
Alain Cany – Chairman of Saigonchildren Board of Trustee
