On June 6th, saigonchildren, with the funding from ILA Community Network (ILACN) hosted the ground-breaking ceremony to start the construction of Tap Ngai C Primary school.
Tap Ngai C Primary School is one of the three primary schools in Tap Ngai Commune. It has one main site and two satellite sites. The proposed school, which is the target of this building project, is the main site in Le Van Quoi Hamlet.
The school site currently has 12 classrooms with 432 students. Eight classrooms were built from 1985 to 1995, the rooms were built with basic construction techniques, and have now become dilapidated. Although the school’s appearance may be acceptable from outside due to regular repair and renovation, the inside of the building has fallen into disrepair and threatens the safety of children.
With this project, the total estimated cost to build and fully equip the new primary school is US$73,083. This construction will last 6 months from June 2019 to November 2019 and after the school’s completion there will be a one year warranty
90 children aged 6–11 in the 2017-2018 school year benefitted directly from funding provided by ILACN
As a longstanding programme of saigonchildren, the School Building and Learning Environments Programme aims to construct or renovate kindergartens and primary schools, in order to bring a safe and effective learning environment to children in the most disadvantaged areas of Vietnam. Since 1992, our School Building Programme has built 198 schools, 534 classrooms and benefited 15,500 students across Vietnam.
