On 13 January 2007,
Saigon Children's Charity and Premier Oil opened two
classrooms for Tan Hung Primary School in Dong Phu District,
Binh Phuoc Province. 46 children aged 5 to 12, most
of whom are children of ethnic minorities, go to this
new school every day. Premier Oil sponsors part of the
construction cost and our local partner, the Education
Department of Binh Phuoc, contributes the remaining
construction cost besides equipment and furniture. Local
contributions like this is evidence that the school
is really needed and that our partner is committed to
keep it running. At this school SCC provides scholarships
to 58 children to help them get an education; 8 of these
are also from Premier Oil.
