SAIGON HOSPITALITY

SAIGON HOSPITALITY PROJECT FOR DISADVANTAGED YOUTHS

With the effort of helping the disadvantaged youths, Saigon Children’s Charity launched a new programme “Saigon Hospitality” on 26th February 2007 for 40 students. The course was designed to provide young people with English and hospitality skills so that they can find a stable job in the field.

Aim

To provide training to disadvantaged young people who will help them to get decent paid work in the hospitality industry, escape from the poverty into which they were born and realise their full potential in life.

  Objectives

  1. Recruit young people who meet our criteria of poverty and need and who are interested in pursuing a career in the hospitality business and who have the right attitude and aptitude.
  2. Provide training in hospitality skills for which there is a demand and which our young people can quickly acquire.
  3. Identify employers who need young, trained staff and introduce our project ‘graduates’.
  4. Monitor the programme so its success can be clearly understood by all and lessons learnt can be shared with others.
