School Building and Learning Environments Autum 2013

It has been a month since the new school year started, together with great supporters, SCC is very happy to see many schools being built and now open for use just right on time!

We understand that kindergarten and primary education are critical initial steps for children to build a strong foundation to higher education. For that reason, our School Building and Learning Environments programme always made a great effort in supporting school building projects in areas where the demands were high but where it was difficult to find any other necessary resources.

SCC would like to thank you for all for your tremendous support and especially that from Premier Oil, Credit Suisse, AEFA, C Com Foundation, Poristes Stiftung, Mr. Judd Kinne, and Prudential Viet Nam for many school construction projects in recent months.

At this time, despite the unfavorable weather we have finished, as planned, Xuan Tay kindergarten with 3 classrooms in Dong Nai province and 5 classrooms in 2 kindergartens in Tra Vinh at the same time. This represents our continuing and committed in these two provinces.

Besides those provinces which are nearby Ho Chi Minh City, SCC is reaching out further some new provinces in the Mekong Delta such as: Kien Giang, Ca Mau and Hau Giang. SCC has completed initial field surveys at those provinces and will keep you updated in the next newsletter.

Quang Trị was famous for its proud history and is slowly overcoming its obstacles in terms of economic and educational development. SCC greatly appreciated Mr. Judd Kinne and Poristes Stiftung’s support in building some classrooms at key locations in two districts of Quang Tri called Dakrong and Huong Hoa, near the old DMZ and battleground of Khe Sanh –these are expected to finish at the end of this year.

Starting the project in the middle of August 2013

Besides that, by the end of the year, SCC is planning to build another 8 classrooms for a primary school in Quang Tri and one other in Tra Vinh. These projects are planned to be finished  in the first quarter of 2014.

And one other school in Tra Vinh too

During the summer break, we also delivered outdoor playing facilities to 10 kindergartens in Dong Nai, Tien Giang and Tra Vinh. See some of the pictures below!

When looking at the children learning and playing in new schools, SCC felt very proud and happy and saw ourselves working even harder in order to bring more and more new schools to them.
