What is Charity Cycle Adventure (CCA)?
CCA welcomes a range of enthusiastic cyclists who can combine their love of cycling through the spectacular scenery of Vietnam with raising funds for those children and youngsters who are less fortunate. Over the span of 11 years, this event has raised over US$560,000, providing substantial support for the critical work saigonchildren does in Vietnam.
CCA couldn’t take place in 2021 due to COVID-19. Now is the time to come together and keep our community strong to continue our mission. Join our group of brave cyclists this year to raise funds to support disadvantaged children and youngsters in Vietnam to get a fairer start in life. We encourage participation from experienced riders and less experienced cyclists as our route is designed to accommodate both groups.

Charity Cycle Adventure team in Phong Nha, Quang Binh 2020
On day 1, we will commence riding from Hue, passing through the ancient citadel to ride alongside the lagoon, then follow a coastal route viewing the elaborate tombs characteristic of the area. Feel free to stop and take a quick swim in the sea at any time to cool down. Have lunch in a beachside restaurant and finish at the Vinh Moc tunnels. You have the option of visiting the tunnels and/or tucking into cold beers, courtesy of our sponsor, Heart of Darkness. For those driven cyclists out there we have the option of cycling a further 45km to the hotel in Dong Ha. For those less driven and tucking into the beers, a bus will transport you to the hotel in Dong Ha.
On day 2, we will enjoy the spectacular scenery along Ho Chi Minh Road West, with climbs and descents near the Laos border, lunch in an ethnic village and opportunities to cool down in the clear waters of the Long Dai river running alongside our cycling route before ending the day in Phong Nha, the famous caving centre of Vietnam.
On the final day, based around Phong Nha, we will ride downhill from the Da Deo pass to the valley where the Kong: Skull Island movie was filmed and enjoy the spectacular limestone rock formations along the way. After a bowl of pho for lunch, we will take on a mountain pass and meander back along country lanes for the closing party in Phong Nha.
Each rider is kindly asked to pay a registration fee of US$460 (single room) or US$390 (shared room). This fee covers accommodation, meals (except dinner on days 2 and 3) and a fully equipped cycling support team to lead the navigation of the ride, support in case of breakdown and provision of drinks/snacks along the way. It also includes a bus in case you want to shorten the ride due to fatigue/injury.
A cycling shirt is provided by our sponsors, Heart of Darkness, to be worn on days 1 and 3 of the ride.
In addition, and separate from the registration fees, each rider also commits to raise a minimum of US$500 through sponsorship which goes directly to support saigonchildren programmes. (See our online fundraising page)

This year, in addition to the main CCA from Hue to Phong Nha, we will organise a “mini CCA” from Di Linh to Binh Thuan on the weekend from 22nd to 24th April. The “mini CCA” is suitable for people of all cycling levels. The routes are designed to work for even the least experienced, but still enable riders to enjoy the best sceneries of the Central Highlands and Binh Thuan province. There is a stop every 10 to 12 kilometres and a professional support team to attend to you for every technical and medical issue along the way.
Each rider will pay a registration fee of VND4,800,000. This covers transportation to and from HCMC and during the event, accommodation, and food. In case you would like to rent a bicycle, the additional fee is VND400,000 per person.
Moreover, and in addition to the registration fee, each participant commits to raising a minimum amount of US$300. This will go towards saigonchildren’s activities to support disadvantaged children to have better futures through education. Fundraising support will be provided.
