Sponsorship and Event Volunteer

Position: Sponsorship and Event Volunteer  

Supervisor: Events Manager 

Schedule: 20 hours/week on average / can be done remotely in Vietnam 

Duration: 1 Jul 2020 – 12 sept 2020 

Number: 2 volunteers 


1. Responsibilities: 


  • Before the event date: 

Assist in preparing event proposals for prospect donors (mostly corporates) 

Research and compile the list of potential in-kind donors 

Approach potential donors to secure prizes and auction items for event (including Lucky Draw prizes, Silent and Sealed Auction items) 

Oversee the final prize list 

Coordinate with donors to collect donated items, information from donors and ensure Saigonchildren meets donors requirements. 

Write and proofread the ball booklet (including pictures and descriptions of prizes) 

  • On the event day: 

Display and oversee auction items  

Help with other event logistics and set up 

  • After the event:  

Contact donors and winners to deliver prizes and auction items 

Help to prepare report, thank you letters to donors, and other post-event follow-ups.

2. Requirements:  

  • Excellent command of English. 
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Sales or Customer Service experience is an important advantage.  
  • Enthusiasm for getting experiences working with NGO and involving in a high-end event.

5. About Saigon Children’s Charity:  

Saigon Children’s Charity was founded in 1992 for a specific purpose: to help disadvantaged Vietnamese children to get an education and a fairer start in life.  

Our area of operation is in the south of Vietnam, around Ho Chi Minh City, extending to the Cambodian border and down into the Mekong Delta. 

Our key activities include: 

  • Child Development Scholarship Programme: giving scholarships to disadvantaged children, including a monthly rice allowance, textbooks, notebooks, pens, school uniforms and access to a range of individualised help and advice. 
  • Building Schools Program: build public schools (mainly kindergartens) and improve existing ones. 
  • Getting Ready For Work Programme: providing training in English, computer skills, art, photography, hairdressing, hospitality training, etc. 
  • Special Needs Education: helping small local front-line organisations working with children with disabilities with small grants, equipment, advice and training.
