HelpAlliance, the non-political, non-denominational organization founded by Lufthansa employees in 1999. In 2006, HelpAlliance began lending its support to aid initiatives in Vietnam, for example through the Working With Others program (WWO) it cofounded with the Saigon Children’s Charity in Ho Chi Minh City.
WWO was set up with the aim of supporting and caring for children with disabilities and empowering them to lead a self-determined life. SCC has also developed sponsorship programs for children who would otherwise be unable to attend school. The programs offer the individual support each child needs, in the form of food, school uniforms, school and exercise books, school bags, bicycles or school fees.
We would like to share with you a very touching story which was on Lufthansa’s magazine, issue 12/2013 (please click here) and a video clip on Youtube (below) to read and see more about the story. This story was about Duong Thi My Duyen, who is 12 years old and is passionate in history. Although her family is living in difficulty but smiles are always on her face. Thanks to Saigon Children’s Charity support, she believes she and her family will escape the poverty and have a brighter future.
