In late January, saigonchildren partnered with the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Child Rights in HCMC to host a play day and recognition ceremony honouring 100 children with outstanding academic achievements across the city.
These children have consistently strived for excellence over many school years, earning titles of “Good” and “Outstanding” students at district and city levels. They have also actively participated in cultural, sports and social activities and campaigns. Especially, among them were many students from charity schools who are currently receiving regular nutritional and dairy support, as well as assistance with learning expenses through a saigonchildren project.

In addition to receiving cash awards and meaningful gifts, the children enjoyed Tết-themed traditional games and cultural activities such as decorating nón lá, practising calligraphy, and taking instant photobooth photos to capture memorable moments.

During the event, Mr Damien Roberts, Executive Director of saigonchildren, shared: “Your success today is not only a source of pride for your families and teachers, but also a great source of motivation for our team. Every single one of you reminds us why we do what we do: because with encouragement and opportunity, every child can reach their potential and build a future filled with hope, confidence, and happiness.”
