This September, Nutri-San’s inaugural charity concert, ‘Flourish: A Musical Odyssey,’ will take place in Ho Chi Minh City’s most prestigious and recognisable venue for artistic performances – the Saigon Opera House. Undoubtedly, the event will transport the audience to an evening brimming with exceptional music by Bao Anh Nguyen, Artistic Director of the Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra.
This magnificent concert is in aid of two Vietnam-based charities – Saigon Children’s Charity and Newborns Vietnam. It is also an opportunity to celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations between the U.K. and Vietnam.
Throughout the concert, the audience will be treated to a two-hour experience of outstanding performances and instrumentals. The event will host the renowned British composer and pianist, Simon Proctor, for this unique event. Together with the Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra, Simon himself will be performing his ‘Queen Concerto’ – including the iconic ‘We Will Rock You’ and ‘Bohemian Rhapsody,’ while acclaimed Vietnamese pianist Luu Duc Anh will perform Proctor’s ‘Bond Concerto’ – bringing the themes associated with the famous 007 agent to Vietnam in what is truly a celebration of East-West talent, and a fitting tribute for the 50-year anniversary!
As if this were not enough, the evening will start with The Carmen Fantasy Op.25 (Pablo de Sarasate) performed by violin virtuoso Ji Eun Yook, before the jazz group Jumpforjazz – led by saxophonist Nguyen Bao Long and featuring the multi-talented celebrity chef Bobby Chinn on vocals – will delight us all with ‘The Maker’ (Daniel Lanois) and ‘You Can’t Hurry Love’ (Holland-Dozier-Holland).
Nutri-San is a seaweed technology company based in Vietnam and the UK. The idea of ‘flourish’ found in the title of this concert relates to the company’s mission to enable people, animals, and our planet to flourish now and in the future. What better way for us all to flourish than through an evening of music!
