Last week, members of saigonchildren staff went to Húc commune of Hướng Hóa district, Quảng Trị province to distribute phase 2 of saigonchildren’s support to this area after a series of devastating floods and landslides hitting the central region in October.

A total of 1,200 packages were given to all the children of kindergarten to secondary school age in the commune. Each package contains school supplies (adjusted to the different age groups), a jacket (designed according to the schools’ guidelines to work as uniform), and a hand towel. In addition, schoolchildren from 5 to 15 years old also receive floating backpacks that can double as lifevests in the case of a water emergency.
