Parent Meetings in Tra Vinh & Tay Ninh

For three days, 26-28 Jan 2018, saigonchildren program officers held parent meetings in various high schools throughout Tieu Can District in Tra Vinh Province which were fully attended by around 100 parents of the children receiving the Child Development Scholarship. In the beginning of February, 3-5 Feb 2018, the saigonchildren program officers held parent meetings in 8 schools of Duong Minh Chau District and Tan Bien District in Tay Ninh province, where parents of 119 children joined the meeting.

During the parent meetings, saigonchildren provided updated information and details on current scholarship packages. These meetings also provide an opportunity for us to listen to parents’ experiences and suggestions. All the parents attended the meeting with open minds and collaborative spirits. It’s evident that many parents desire to support the school board curriculum in addition to extra-curricular activities for their children. Moreover, some parents shared they would love to collaborate with saigonchildren staff in organizing family visits, sponsorship ceremonies, and parent meetings.

Quarterly Rice Delivery in Can Gio

Each month, we provide 10kg rice for the disadvantaged children receiving the scholarships of CDSP. Every 3 months, saigonchildren officers organize a parent meeting to encourage parents to keep supporting their children on their path to education.

In the final week of January 2018, saigonchildren program officers, in coordination with our long-term trusted sponsor Premier Oil, visited and distributed 4140kg rice to 138 students in Can Gio Dist.

Local Network Annual Meeting in Tra Vinh

On 10 Feb 2018, the annual meeting of saigonchildren’s local network in Tra Vinh took place with nearly 50 participants, including 41 volunteers working for the network and representatives from saigonchildren and the Tra Vinh Education & Training Division.

During the meeting, members of the local network shared difficulties they’ve experienced while working and discussed possible solutions with representatives from saigonchildren and the Tra Vinh Education & Training Division of Province.

After the meeting, saigonchildren gave Tet presents to volunteers.
