date_range2018-07-09

Aiming at sustainable development in Vietnam, Central Group Vietnam is committed to “contribute to Vietnam’s prosperity and to enhance the quality of life of the people”. This vision can be seen in the Project “I dream” that was launched in August 2017 as a joint effort between Central Group Vietnam and saigonchildren. The objective of the Project is to bring opportunities of “learning and playing” and provide scholarships for children to children with disadvantaged background in Vietnam.

‘I Dream’ was inspired by the idea “enjoy learning time” to children. After 06 months of implementation with meaningful events and activities, the project has observed significant achievements.

“I Dream” project was launched at Robins Department Store – a member of Central Group Vietnam

The project kicked off with the ‘Painting with artists’ event on August 20th, 2017. Designed specifically for 6th and 7th-grade unprivileged students in Can Gio District, Ho Chi Minh City, it was hosted by Artist Si Hoang, CEO of Ao Dai Si Hoang Co., LTD. and Ao Dai Si Hoang Museum. For the first time in their lives, these suburban students were encouraged to express their dreams through pictures. They also had the opportunity to converse with artist Si Hoang about their passions and ambitions

With big dreams conveyed through innocent strokes of color, the drawings inspired a collection of pillow designs from Robins Department Store, a member of Central Group Vietnam. The products were displayed and sold at Robins Department Store with 100% of proceeds going to support children in Can Gio District.

The ‘I Dream’ pillow collection received significant support from organisations such as The People’s Committee of District 7, The Women’s Society of Can Gio District, artist Si Hoang, as well as from benefactors such as Farmmilk, VPBank, Akemi, The E.Y.E, Albetta, ADOT and Apollo. The amount of donation added up to over 100 million VND.

In addition, ‘I Dream’ continued to bring joy to more children, this time to Thang Long English and Vocational School. The event was attended by Mr. Pradeep Gupta, Senior Retail Management, Fashion Merchandize, Ecommerce of Central Group Vietnam, as well as saigonchildren executive director Mr. Damien Roberts and many other staff members.
