The Garment Collecting Initiative is H&M’s famous global effort to promote sustainable fashion and to give unwanted garments a new life. H&M encourages customers to hand in their unwanted clothes and home textiles – no matter the brand or condition – at any of its stores in Vietnam and throughout the world. Customers will also get rewarded with one H&M voucher worth 15% off 1 item for every bag of unwanted garments they hand in.
In collaboration with I:CO, a global service provider in clothing recycling, these clothes will be re-worn, reused or recycled.
Aiming at taking out the worry of what to do with unwanted garments, H&M extends its positive impact by sharing the surplus from the initiative with a local charity organization. For every kilogram of clothes that H&M collects, 2 Euro cents will be donated to the chosen partner organization in the local country. With this effort H&M is supporting more than 50 NGOs around the world which are continuously working to make the world a better place.
In Vietnam, saigonchildren is proud to be H&M’s chosen charity partner.
