On September 20th, Thăng Long school held a workshop for students on “How to identify the right career goals”. The students were very active to participate in all the group activities guided by the experienced instructors. Disadvantaged children and young people tend to face more life challenges than others. Most of them come from challenging family backgrounds, and rarely have the opportunity to participate in social activities. Understanding those basic needs, every few months we organize activities for students to improve their inter-social communication skills, to boost their confidence, and to strengthen their hands-on experience of life.

Students are presenting their ideas
The steps in this workshop were simple and flowed logically from one exercise to another. The purpose of these exercise was to help identify student’s strengths, joys, and values, and then determined potential next steps to identify the right career path. This workshop gave the students rare opportunities to work on their self-evaluation and make the right decision based on that.

The feedback from the students after the workshop was very positive. 82% of the participants said that vocational training is their top choice and they had developed better and clearer vision about their future career planning.
