Mid-Autumn Festival can be considered one of the purest festivals for Vietnamese children. However, not every child has the opportunity to enjoy the moments of Mid-Autumn Festival, such as watching lion dances, carrying lanterns, and eating mooncakes. That’s why every year, saigonchildren’s Scholarship Programme alternates in organising Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations for underprivileged children in each province where the program operates.
This year, the Mid-Autumn Festival celebration in Δα»ng Nai involved the participation of nearly 400 children from primary to high school levels, as well as the support of Baxter and USV companies. The gifts given to the children were contributed by various sponsors, but among them, there was one special “sponsor”: university students and alumni from the Child Development Scholarship Programme.
They organised fundraising activities and raised 29 million Vietnamese dong, donating 200 desk lamps to the children. It’s not just a gift but also a message to encourage these young ones to overcome their circumstances and pursue the path of knowledge with determination, following in the footsteps of those who came before them.
