According to The Future of Jobs Report 2025 by the World Economic Forum, around 90 million existing jobs will be displaced, while 170 million new jobs will be created this decade, driven by advancements in technology and the energy transition.
With the rapid changes in the labour market, finding reliable career information has become more crucial than ever. Questions such as which major to pursue, job prospects, and the skills needed to stay competitive in the age of AI are increasingly pressing.
Ms. Thủy Trần, Founder SiF Career, shared that she has met countless young people struggling with their first major career decisions.
“High school students often find themselves wondering, ‘What should I study? What job should I pursue?’ Meanwhile, university students face increasing challenges in their studies and job searches. At the same time, technology and artificial intelligence are advancing rapidly, raising concerns about whether young professionals will be able to compete with AI-driven assistants in the job market. The truth is, with early preparation and access to the right information, young people can make more well-informed and strategic career choices.”
Many of saigonchildren’s beneficiaries, who come from underserved communities, are reaching a stage in life where they must make significant career decisions. Through supporting them, we have gained insight into the barriers they face in accessing career information, receiving proper career guidance, and exploring diverse job opportunities.
These insights have motivated us, in collaboration with Ms. Thủy, to develop a PowHERful information hub (available in Vietnamese) dedicated to career development. Our goal is to provide students with a reliable and easily accessible source of information to help them navigate the evolving job landscape and make well-informed career decisions.
With over 20 years of experience managing education and training projects for children and young people, Ms. Thủy has earned a Master’s degree in Educational Studies, specialising in Career Guidance and Development, in Australia. Now, she is fully dedicated to career counselling, aiming to help young people in Vietnam navigate their career paths with confidence.
