A 3-week training course started the projects of WWO-SCC programs in 2014 (from 06 – 24 January 2014) for teachers, therapists, audiology technicians and ENT doctors under the project “Helping Children with Hearing Loss Learn to Listen and Talk – Advanced training program” organized by the Global Foundation for Children with Hearing Loss. Audiologists Myriam De La Asuncion, Joan Hewitt and Jane Madell, auditory verbal therapists Sally Tannenbaum, Erin Thompson and Sherri Vernelson and surgeon Jay Rubinstein joined with Paige Stringer in the fourth Mobile Mission, which took place in 3 provinces: Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Binh Duong.

“Thank you the Global Fund’s experts who have transformed me from a mother who did not know what to do when my son’s hearing loss was detected into a confident mother who now can teach my son at home with the guidance of school teachers. All that we have now is thanks to the learning from you experts during the past four years” shared Gia Hao’s Mum, mother of a 6-year-old boy in preschool class in Thuan An Education Center for Children with Disabilities.
WWO program is proud to become one of the sponsors of this meaningful project. We hope that all Vietnamese hearing impaired children will have the opportunity to get access to programs to learn to communicate by listening and speaking.
