We close a chapter, but the journey does not end here

Last weekend was undoubtedly an unforgettable day for everyone who has been a part of or once spent meaningful time at Thăng Long English and Vocational School. With the presence of the British Consul-General in Hồ Chí Minh City, several dedicated sponsors, and local authority representatives, the school held its annual end-of-school-year ceremony to celebrate students with outstanding academic performance in English, IT, and other social skills courses over the past year.

In addition, the event marked the official conclusion of saigonchildren’s 30 years of support for the school. Having accompanied the school for such a long time, we take immense pride in witnessing the growth of countless generations who studied at Thăng Long School and in having contributed to their success. On this occasion, heartfelt sharing from alumni, parents, and long-time teachers at Thăng Long School evoked a wide range of emotions, but above all, a deep sense of pride in being part of the school’s enduring legacy.

“Before coming to Thăng Long, I couldn’t understand or write fluently, and due to my family’s difficult circumstances, I couldn’t study anywhere else. The lessons and skills I gained at the school made a huge difference. From a student with basic English, I’ve now become an English teacher, eager to pass on what I’ve learned and experienced to the younger generation,” shared a former student.

Additionally, saigonchildren organised a special mini-exhibition showcasing the school’s development timeline in chronological order, alongside heartfelt letters, messages, and images from the past 30 years of Thăng Long School. These contributions from students, teachers, and staff across generations offer a glimpse into the school’s incredible journey. You are warmly invited to visit and explore the exhibition, open until 8th December 2024, at Thăng Long English and Vocational Training School, 129F/63A Nguyễn Hữu Hào Street, Ward 9, District 4.

Lastly, a heartfelt thank-you to An Sen, Phan Hưng, and Trang Lê for helping saigonchildren capture the unforgettable moments of this event.
