Last weekend (26 October), the launch event for the project “Supporting Outstanding Female Students Overcoming Hardship” was successfully held. Implemented by the Intellectual Women’s Association of Hồ Chí Minh City, the project is part of the 2025 cohort of the U-GO Scholarship Programme, jointly organised by the international organisation U-GO and saigonchildren, to provide educational opportunities for female university students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Within the HCMC support component, 166 high-achieving female students currently enrolled at 10 public universities will receive financial support through to graduation and completion of their degree programmes.

In addition, along with the remaining 101 female students supported in Đồng Nai and Trà Vinh under the latest U-GO partnership cohort, all beneficiaries will have the opportunity to participate in at least three skills-training workshops. These workshops cover communication skills, interview preparation, time management, CV writing, as well as sessions on health, wellbeing, and holistic personal development.
From saigonchildren’s side, we also provide opportunities for students to engage in community service activities, and to connect through the Growing Together Club, a supportive community where saigonchildren scholarship students can learn, share, and grow together.
