Alongside four other U-GO scholars from partner organisations across the country, they represented the rich cultural heritage of Vietnam on the global stage with a special performance, sharing a piece of Vietnamese tradition with their global friends.
During the two-day event, 24 U-GO Ambassadors shared their personal stories, connected, learned from one another, and promoted the message of empowering girls through education, all under the inspiring theme “Education Changes Everything.” And truly, it does.
Ngọc Giàu, one of two U-GO scholars from saigonchildren’s side, shared:
I used to be a shy girl who often lacked confidence. The journey from my hometown to the big city for university was truly challenging. During my early days in this new environment, I struggled to adapt. I thought my student life would be dull and lonely. I didn’t dare to speak up in class or present in front of others.
But then, U-GO and saigonchildren gave me the chance to change. Through the scholarship, skill-building workshops, and various activities I joined, I started to notice positive changes in myself. Now, I can confidently present during group assignments, express my thoughts, and I’m more open to new experiences.
Every time I take part in an activity with saigonchildren, I always tell my family about it. They are so happy and grateful that I’ve been given this precious opportunity.
And this time – being part of the U-GO Global Summit 2025 – I felt truly emotional. It’s such a significant milestone in my journey. I had the chance to meet the people who have supported me, connect with inspiring women, and learn from so many talented young women from different countries. The energy everyone brought has empowered me and strengthened my belief in myself.
Now, I believe I can break through my limits and grow even more. I’ll also try my best to improve my English so that, if we meet again, I can talk and share more confidently with everyone.
Thank you so much for this meaningful trip! ❤️
Since 2022, saigonchildren has been working hand in hand with U-Go to help turn university dreams into reality for underserved female students in Vietnam. And this school year alone, more than 130 newly enrolled university students have been supported through this meaningful collaboration, enabling them to pursue and complete their higher education with confidence, ready to chase their dreams and shape a future of their own making.
