The opening night of the H.U.E (Hope Unfolds through Education) art exhibition on 26th June was a resounding success at the New World Saigon Hotel, attended by honoured guests, sponsors, and contributing artists.
In a cosy and elegant atmosphere, guests were treated to an impressive array of artworks by renowned artists such as Claire Binkley, Ivan Shenevsky, Lâm Sơn Thân, P.artspace_, Richie Fawcett, Phạm Rồng, and Trần Minh Kim Thoại. Additionally, works by talented students from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts and children benefitting from Saigon Children’s Charity (saigonchildren) programmes – including scholarship recipients, alumni of Thăng Long English and Vocational School’s art class, and autistic children from the Early Intervention class of the Special Needs Education Programme – left a strong impression on the audience.
Ms. V., a guest at the opening night, expressed: “I was truly moved by enjoying the creative paintings of the children and listening to their educational progress. These works are not only aesthetically beautiful but also contain inspiring stories. This is truly a testament to the power of education and art in transforming lives.”
The H.U.E exhibition is a collaborative initiative between saigonchildren, New World Saigon Hotel, and Limitless Contemporary. Saigonchildren brings to the exhibition the artwork of children benefiting from its educational programmes, helping the public to gain a deeper understanding of the power of education and art on young minds. New World Saigon Hotel is the venue sponsor and provider of the opening night reception, offering a luxurious and convenient space to ensure the exhibition’s success and public appeal. Limitless Contemporary serves as the art advisor and media supporter, bringing expertise and artistic vision to connect artists with the public and create an inspiring exhibition. Hồ Chí Minh City University of Fine Arts supports the exhibition by providing talent and artistic assistance, emphasising the role of education in the development of art.
Artist Lâm Sơn Thân, famous for his abstract style and notable solo exhibitions such as “Thân trong Thân” and “Nhiệm Màu” (Magical), shared: “This is the third year I have had the privilege to accompany saigonchildren’s meaningful activities. Seeing my art contribute to removing barriers to education for disadvantaged children has given me more inspiration and motivation in my artistic journey.”
From 27th June to 10th July 2024, the H.U.E exhibition will be open to the public at the main hall of the New World Saigon Hotel. This significant cultural and artistic event not only provides the community with the opportunity to appreciate unique artworks but also serves as a call to action to join hands in helping underprivileged children follow their dreams.
